This was not that long of a trip, which is supposed to be the meeting with relatives. But life sometimes makes a less expected turn. Next time, I hope.
On the bright side, the destination was perfect to catch one of the rare birds: the 757-300. A supercar in the pilot’s opinion. Overpowered aircraft have a truly unique set of characteristics. It’s a pity, it wasn’t chosen for the “next-gen”-ification and 737 became the base for the MAX lineup.
And I forgot that on re-spooled film first frame might have a leak. Physical reality.

Turns out the hotel was amazing. And not because of fancy facilities or crazy entertainment programs. But because of personal. They were super friendly, nice, professional, and always here. They made this week so good we want to come back to Egypt because of this hotel.

Late March is still a bit early for a full leisure experience for me because the sea is still cold-ish and winds are present more or less every day. On the other hand, it wasn’t something uncomfortable. It was actually good to be able to stay outside the whole day (under the umbrella of course).

Pyramids
I still clearly remember the moment when I was reading an encyclopedia on my father’s Lada 21099 back seat waiting for him to come back from an electronics shop. It was a chapter about Egypt, pyramids, and mummies. At that moment I decided to visit this place at least once.
As with many child interests, this one didn’t last long and I wasn’t really insisting or suggesting to go to Egypt in the next 20 years or so. Wanted, yes, but it wasn’t at the top must-visit right now places. Nothing wrong with Egypt, nothing wrong with that. But of course, being in Egypt (at least for the first time) means you absolutely have to go to the pyramids. They are a miracle of the world. And yes, they are!

They are even bigger than it feels in pictures. It is fascinating what people could still do back then even without modern tools and powers or electricity or advanced hydraulics.

Back
This travel left a very calm and relaxing impression. It was just nice there. Reading Death Note, taking time to think about something and just escape a rainy cold city for a bit. After months of European winter, you getting bored and tired of constant rainy humid cold weather and you want a break.
P.S. I think Condor is the best German airline in all good and bad. Loved this experience, it was nice, sometimes funny, sometimes ridiculous, but always authentic. Definitely can recommend it! Especially if you’ll be able to catch 757. A great plane from great times.
