Fog
Keeping something good in secret is a tough thing. Especially when it is already almost happening and you want to scream to the whole world that soon very soon one of the happiest moments will happen. But in order for this to really happen, you have to be quiet. The foggy airport suggests this too.
We were unbelievably lucky that cold January day. Our plane was actually one of the last ones that were able to take off or land. The plane that was heading here from Armenia went to another airport.

Last minutes before we met a friend who didn’t know about us coming to congratulate him with birthday and spend 2 more great days in Yerevan

Never saw a more dramatic view from the kitchen window. It is impossible to stop looking. And it is also always different! Crazy to think that between us and the Ararat mountain is still one of the most dangerous and guarded borders between Armenia and Turkey.

Walk
On the way to the city center, I had some time to walk and see some details of Yerevan’s life. The last time we visited it, it was up to +42ºC and the yellow-red stones most of the buildings are made of look like they are about to melt like metal in a blast furnace.
But this time, it was January. And we were again lucky to get some warm and sunny days so, the impression was quite different.

Anywhere you go in Yerevan – each place is vibrant and unique. Many things have its own very special touch.

Overall, of course, you can see the complicated reality of Armenia. Tough but helpful people contrast between the newest Teslas and old post-soviet boneshakers. But still, the country lives better than some of the other places that could be claimed to have “more potential”. And this is just great.

I like this particular photo above. Still, learning how to make this more stable, but in this photo, we with the camera chose the settings that captured a lot of air. It is always hard to predict, how and when this will happen. The film is likely to capture more “air” usually, while with digital sensors sometimes it becomes tricky to balance between “air”, “faded” and “no air at all”. This time the result is very close to what I remember the eyes were seeing.

This old terminal with the tower at the Zvartnots International Airport is marvelous. It is so unfortunate that this incredible building’s fate is currently unknown. And no good news about it seems to be coming. Functionally, of course, it is too small. Especially after the beginning of the war. But it is just so cool UFO-looking building.

Back
Another trip comes to an end. Still thinking of how nice to visit friends who live in different countries and places. Even with the context of why and how the decision to move was made for some, it is still great that more people expand their boundaries, visit places, meet new people, and live outside of the movement that tries to close people’s minds instead of opening and encouraging them.
